In today’s class, we learned how to use iMovie and make various different videos using different techniques. I’ve made various movies on iMovie, but very simple. It was interesting to learn the different techniques that I didn’t even know you could do just on iMovie.

The first video we worked on was a goat video and we learned how to split the video into different parts and move them around the video. We also used transitions and you could add music if you wanted to. These techniques I had already a good grasp on. The next video was using a green screen. This one was definitely a little trickier for myself. We had to put the green screen video of the chickens first, than the underwater theme underneath it on the bar, than put the ocean sounds on top of the green screen. Once I got it to work it was pretty cool. I also put dinosaur sounds to it. The last video editing I worked on was working with slow motion. We got biker video and when he would do his jump in the video, we had to make it look like it was happening in slow motion. This took a lot of little steps, first with splitting the video, than making that certain part in slow motion through a bunch of different steps. Once I got it to work, the video looked a lot better. Something I’ve never done before and would use again.

Once I start getting better at making the videos for my free inquiry project, I want to use some of these techniques it them so I can demonstrate my learning.
